moving day is coming soon

That's why I'm missing in action. I decided to revamp my site.

I currently post on the Squarespace 5 platform and have decided to move up to Squarespace 6.

(If anyone knows who did this watercolor, let me know so I can credit it properly).

Little did I realize it was kind of of a big deal redesigning my site, but I was ready for a change. You really don't think about that time you coded in some analytics, the typography needs to be a certain shade...let alone creating a new color scheme takes some time. You want certain pages to have a different header. Here comes creating custom badges. Do I want less categories? I do. So is that a 301 or a 302 redirect? Should I create a custom 404 page? It's a lot of work, and it's never perfect.

The biggest reason for the platform jump is not because it was mandatory but because I have long wanted to return to sourcing and selling limited-quantity jewelry, handbags, etc. My old platform didn't have that option, so I thought I would go with tictail or shopify. And I found tictail.com to be REALLY easy to use.

It was time to renew my subscription for Squarespace, and I found that the shop details were included. If you find something you like, you don't get switched to another site to purchase. The fees are pretty standard, but the bonus was I could incorporate everything into one site without figuring out more CSS, API's, templates and stuff.

My new website will have just that! A brand new store.

So please be patient with me as I continue the construction. The dust should be settled, and everything switched over by October 15. I hope you enjoy it.

everyday diamonds, linking up and a GIVEAWAY!

(Ladies, if you want to get to the really juicy stuff, just skip right on past all the pictures and enter the giveaway at the bottom of the post!)

I have always thought ladies should have a pair of everyday diamond studs in your accessory wardrobe. They go with anything...on any day. White shirt and jeans, or a seriously tailored suit. Diamonds are a timeless accessory.

The question for me is, do I invest in the real thing? Or try to find something lab-made that is really earth friendly and easier on our environment? Search high and low for the best real-looking cheapies? Is the cost for real diamonds worth it?

Shop DiamondNexus.com Today!

When Morgan from Diamond Nexus asked me to review their product..... I must admit I hesitated. Were my environmentally safe earrings going to fall apart after a few uses?

Of course I hit Google and did a little research. Diamond Nexus has been voted a “Best of Weddings” jeweler from “The Knot” three years running, and are also the official jewelry sponsor and creators of the Miss Universe Organization crowns.

Once I received my Mia earrings I knew I had nothing to worry about. My Mia earrings arrived very well packaged; a large outer box, a box to hold the actual jewelry and a very beautiful flocked-lined cherry wood box. It was very secure.

Upon opening all the boxes (I swear it was like Christmas in August!), I was pretty awed. These earrings are GORGEOUS!!! And affordable. Every one of their products is customizable. Diamond Nexus offers white gold, yellow gold, and platinum settings.

Here are the Diamond Nexus Mia earrings

My pictures don't do the earrings justice (they look like flashes of light, and would not stop moving for the camera):

hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle complex | beauty review

Changing climates can wreck havoc on the skin. I moved from Chicago to Florida thinking I could continue with the same beauty regimen I used in the cooler Midwest. Wrong.

Getting older also adds a level of change I don't think I will ever get accustomed to. You go to sleep with no wrinkles, one day you wake up and notice them in places you didn't know wrinkles could exist.

Add hyperpigmentation, sunglass raccoon eyes and a wrinkle across my forehead and I started a fervent search for help in the form of a cream.

iFabbo reached out to me to review Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex and I immediately signed-up!

Here's the basics:

AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex SPF 15 is a unique moisturizer specifically designed to increase skin hydration and soften the appearance of visible wrinkles by helping the skin stimulate the production of collagen. Increased collagen produces a long-term reduction in visible wrinkles, crow's feet, and facial lines. Your multi-functional anti-aging powerhouse and moisturizer in one! Hydroxatone is formulated for all skin types, both women and men, and all ethnicities.

Not one to believe the hype I used it once a day, in place of my regular moisturizer. I'm not down with wearing extra products after removing makeup in the evening, and I couldn't get with wearing sunscreen to bed. It needed to work with one application, once per day.

So let me tell what I hated about this product:

  • It's very heavy. If you have oily skin, you won't likely want to use this product. I found that leaving my skin a bit damp helped to soak it up more as it set into my skin
  • I would not wear it as a beach-day moisturizer, because of the weight I think it would glide right off. Also, I prefer a 30 or higher SPF

What did I love about it?

  • Over the course of three weeks, with just once a day use, it has softened that forehead wrinkle!
  • Hyperpigmentation has faded a bit on my cheeks, and my neck
  • Overall, my skin is so much softer and brighter. I haven't used my CC cream over @hydroxatone since the second week, my skin tone has evened out that much
  • Less is absolutely more, and I have found my new favorite travel cream

The bottom line:

Would I recommend trying Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex? Yes, yes, yes! Go team #AntiWrinkleSPF @hydroxatone! I am going to check out the entire line to see if I my skin can benefit from other products in the line.

Readers, can you recommend a favorite anti-wrinkle product?

Dislaimer: If I love it, it gets a review. iFabbo gifted, styleosophy approved!

what i wore to work | a little red and black

I went old school comfortable for this look. Red, black and white, with add denim and you have an outfit! Some days it's just easier to go for the color, and add in a complementary pattern.

The red unlined swing jacket was from Eloquii, find a similar one here; top Jones New York Outlet, similar top found at Evans US; jeans from JCPenney; Invicta men's watch, shoes and jewelry are vintage, but here are some ruby red sandals that are really hot!
